A Person of Interest

I imagine two figures stand with feet rooted firmly to, or barely touching the ground. Others surround them, connected in some way, perhaps in conversation, quietly observing, or unaware of their association. Others seem yet more distant, but all are interlinked.

I think of each sphere as a representation of a person, and the interconnecting lines as pathways from one to another. I view each painting as a digital profile. I have little idea as to how the data might be collected, understood, or how it may be used. I am no more than an observer who fails to see the whole picture. Like you, I am a person of interest...

Little is known by each individual of the relationships we form as we move about the real world and online. Even the careful and curious barely touch the surface of what is gathered of those we intentionally and accidentally associate ourselves with. These artworks serve to remind me that my travels are rarely solitary: governments, state organs, corporations, and nefarious actors seek to track my every move.
