Through the Cracks in My World

I imagine the public surface of my world as a wall of horizontal beams that I have built up over the years. These beams sit heavily, one on top of the other protecting my inner world. They seem unmovable and made of stone. I have placed some of the beams on the wall purposely, however I am completely unaware how others have come to be here.
